My Own Child

I did not plant you,
true.
But when the season is done,
when the alternate prayers for sun and rain
are counted,
and when the pain of weeding
and the pride of watching
are through,
then I shall hold you high.
A shining leaf above a thousand seeds sown wild.
Not my planting,
But by heaven,
My harvest,
My Own child

Michelle, I wish I would have written it, but I got it from my mother in law...something she had found in a magazine or something...no author

D-You could have gotten away with taking the credit- ha ha...:)
These words really sound like you though- they do sound like the words you have or would use to describe being Jake's mother. It is lovely! I'm sure that you connected with a lot of adoptive mom's out there.

Hey- I saw someone who had their slideshow on the side top of their blog.... I'm going to figure out how they did it- I think all I have to do is change the settings of the width of the sidebar. Want me to try it?? xoxo ms
